New South Wales
Outback Travel Guide
New South Wales is in the south eastern part of the country, north of Victoria, south of Queensland and east of South Australia. New South Wales is Australia's most populated state, and has a population of around 7 million people, with most of the population centered in and around Sydney, Australia's largest capital city.
New South Wales lies in a temperate zone and the climate is generally free from extreme heat and cold, however when you head out to the Outback of New South Wales the temperature can get extremely hot over summer.
There are many areas to visit the Outback in New South Wales, from Broken Hill on the border of South Australia, a popular place for artists, to the red dirt plains of Bourke with its historic river port on the Darling River, to White Cliffs where opals were discovered in the 1890's.
