Outback Australia
Travellers Information
Australia is a huge country so ensure you plan your trip well. There are large distances between cities and towns and the areas around the Outback of Australia can be extremely remote.
On saying this though, the Outback is a truly spectacular place, from areas that may not see rain for years, through to floods that make the land impassable through the wet season.
The currency used in Australia is the Australian Dollar. You can exchange money at banks all over the country, and at money exchange booths normally found in the city centres in the major cities. You will find an ATM machine in almost every town in Australia where you can draw money out from your direct debit and credit cards. Cheques are accepted, but very rarely used now.
